It’s finished!
I thoroughly enjoyed working on this pattern that I found on Ravelry. It was such a pleasure to curl up on the sofa in front of the telly and hook this up. Worked up in aran weight yarn it grows so quickly! But I think it would work well in pretty much any weight and colour combination. I’ve already got orders from my family to make more!
Progress on my stripey blanket was slow this week because I had a lot of ends to sew in. Unlike a lot of knitters and crocheters, I actually quite enjoy sewing the ends in, I find it quite relaxing even if it is time consuming. I read some great advice this week (although I can’t remember where!) that recommended leaving long tails to sew in, and to work them in multiple directions, rather than just tucking it inside your work where it could potentially become loose over time. Longer tails also mean that you have more to work with if you have to restitch or repair your work.
I did a lot of reworking with this sock that I finished last week.
I tried redoing the cuff several times because it seemed too baggy, and settled on doing a lot more ribbing using a smaller size set of needles.
I’ve started knitting the second sock, and I love the fact that they won’t be a matching pair!
I started another pair of mitts in Drops Muskat for an old friend who admired a pair I made for myself a while ago, but they don’t look like much yet!
Time for a nose around Handmade Harbour and maybe another stipe or two…
Aw i love this, the shape is so lovely 🙂

Thanks! It’s a very easy pattern too. All trebles! (Or doubles – if you’re American!)

Thank you! It would be nice if Stylecraft did all the colours in Aran that they do in double knit though, then I could do all sorts of combinations!
